- Validity of results and interpretation
- Transparency and reporting completeness
- Ethical considerations (ethics approvals, consent, data privacy)
- Originality and appropriate citation
- Strength of conclusions relative to evidence
2. Review timeline
To support the journal’s target decision time of 3–4 weeks, reviewers are typically requested to submit reviews within 10–14 days. If more time is needed, please inform the editorial office promptly.
3. Confidentiality
Manuscripts under review are confidential documents. Please do not share, distribute, or use the content for your own research or advantage.
4. Conflicts of interest
Please decline the review if you have a conflict of interest, including:
- recent collaboration with the authors,
- same institution,
- financial interest,
- direct competitive conflict.
5. Tone and constructiveness
Reviews should be respectful, specific, and actionable. If major changes are needed, clearly explain what is required and why.
6. Integrity concerns
If you suspect plagiarism, fabricated data, image manipulation, unethical research, or AI-generated/fabricated citations, please flag this in confidential notes to the editor
