Indexing, Abstracting & Discoverability
AIDSAE is a newly launched journal. We are committed to maximizing the visibility, discoverability, and long-term preservation of all published articles through standard scholarly publishing infrastructure.
Current discoverability and preservation
- OAI-PMH metadata harvesting: AIDSAE supports the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), enabling libraries, repositories, and indexing/aggregation services to harvest article metadata from the journal website.
- Digital preservation: AIDSAE participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN/LOCKSS) to support long-term preservation and accessibility of published content.
- Search engine discovery: As an open access journal, article pages are publicly available and may become discoverable through Google Scholar and other search engines once the site is crawled and meets their inclusion requirements.
Applications in progress
- Crossref (DOIs): AIDSAE is preparing to register with Crossref to assign DOIs to published articles and strengthen citation linking and persistent discoverability.
- Dimensions: AIDSAE plans to apply for inclusion in Dimensions to improve indexing and visibility in research discovery tools.
Important note on major databases
AIDSAE is not yet indexed in major bibliographic databases such as Scopus or Web of Science. We will apply to appropriate indexing services as the journal meets their eligibility criteria (e.g., publication history, editorial quality, ethics policies, and technical standards).

How authors can improve discoverability of their article (recommended)
To help your article become easier to find and cite—especially in search engines and scholarly discovery tools—please ensure the following at submission and revision stages:
- Use a clear, specific title that includes key concepts (avoid overly generic titles).
- Write an informative abstract that states the setting/context, methods, key results (with main numbers where relevant), and the practical/policy implications.
- Choose strong keywords (4–7) that match how researchers search (e.g., “implementation science”, “health systems strengthening”, “programme evaluation”, “quality improvement”, “primary health care”, plus disease/setting terms where relevant).
- Use consistent author names across publications and include ORCID iDs (especially for the corresponding author).
- Cite primary sources correctly and include DOIs in references where available.
- Include complete funding and grant information (funder name + grant number where applicable).
- Provide a clear data availability statement and link to datasets/materials in trusted repositories when possible (or explain restrictions transparently).
- Avoid embedding critical text as images (e.g., tables as screenshots); keep tables and references as editable text to support indexing.
- Ensure ethical and reporting statements are complete (ethics approval/waiver, consent, COI, and reporting standards as applicable), as incomplete records can reduce trust and discoverability.
These steps improve the quality of article metadata and increase the likelihood of discovery through Google Scholar and other academic search platforms.
